It seems that human kind ventures into new grounds without conquering existing foundations. Our complex society faces identity issues in the real world, the one outside the realm of bits and bytes. With those identity issues still unresolved, we are burdened with more identity issues in the World Wide Web. Identity in the digital world has been reduced to anonymous names, fake birthdays, incorrect addresses, misleading user profiles, and immoral activities exhibited by these counterfeit images of individuals. Therefore, I take my stand: True identity in the digital world is dead!

The meaning of identity in the digital world is ambiguous and unnatural. Its too simple a task to create yet another identity in the many online community portals. For example, my own marketing blog is a fake representation of a studio, which does not exist. However, I was honest enough to project truth into my postings and use only my work as examples. This kind of honesty is not evident in the majority of online communities, where users have god like abilities to become whoever they wish, whenever, and wherever. I myself have multiple identities in multiple online services.

Is Identity 2.0 going to take this vague identity and make a concrete representation of me? I think not. Identity 2.0 builds off the same open-source notion of Web 2.0 and is attempting to change the paradigm of online identity. The goal is to make online ID as transparent as real-world ID. But, the question is, is this possible? My reluctance in believing the promise of Identity 2.0 comes from the fact, that digital realms are multi-dimensional, one click can lead to two, and two to ten and so on. The same is true with identity. "The emergence of this new system: Identity 2.0 enables truly distinct, user-centric and portable Internet identities." The only problem with a distinct identity is that identity in the digital world is not so distinct. Most users have multiple identities, because they WANT multiple identifies as they serve different purposes. An identity of a user at ESPN compared with at EBAY is two different identities. Will users give up their multiple digital identities for a new distinct Identity 2.0? It seems the process will be a long one. The quest continues…
Signing off.

Work Cited:

Hardt, D. (2005). Identity 2.0. General web logos, something needed for the head of a website, are the most common and range from 40-100$. Much detail is usually not needed, and often customers will require a color and graphical effect on the logo. Other logos, needed for print/product labels etc., often require much more customer interaction, such as checking to see proportions are right, colors are correct, etc. These range from $50-$200, depending on complexity. I always belive in more than one choice, therefore I will provide my customer with multiple ideas on logo design. The final choice can be made by the customer.

Sincerely,
Your Sensuous Designer.

Web Design

I will design for you the actual layout of the page, how it looks. I will do the graphics and HTML for those graphics, to make them fit together as a website. This is called a template, where you, the customer can plug in whatever content they wish, whenever they wish. You will have full control over exactly what the website says, and uses my template (HTML and graphics) to do so.

Webpage designs can range from the very low ($50) to average pricing (250-400$) to high ($500+). My prices depends on the size of the project and quality of design. For simple non-complex layouts, the price can be as low as 50$ and a very quick turnaround time. For the average site, the price would be around 300$, which includes logo (integrated into the layout, not standalone), interface, and all other general layout graphics, including a background texture, smaller menu graphics, etc. For higher end sites with special needs, we can talk about what price will constitute the time spent on the site.

Sincerely,
Your Sensuous Designer.

About Me

Allow me to formally introduce myself.
